Dirty Diva's Ninja Picks

As well as all of those guys writing blogs, you now have little miss attitude to contend with. I'm here to offer a little insight into what my girly side thinks of things going on in the gaming world. For those who don't know, my girly side consists of jeans, T-shirts, and Adidas. I do, however, have a small herd of My Little Ponies adorning my desk and I've started getting manicures. I'm told that's a girly thing to do.

On to what you really care about …

This month, I'm going to celebrate the mystical Ninja—the sleek, dark horse of the gaming world, built like a god with cat-like stealth and the ability to snap necks without breaking a sweat. I have watched some presentations of Ninja Gaiden® II and I believe it's safe to say that we're in for some samurai slashing, body breaking, gut stabbing fun. Just what every girl looks for in a game! (I may have slightly abnormal tastes but my mom still loves me.)

Embracing the Ninja
There's a plethora of games out there if choreographed death moves are up your alley. For some strategic action, try N+. This title has you make calculated leaps that guide your little dude to safety, avoiding bombs and shooty things, all the while trying not to splatter yourself from long falls.

If you'd prefer some grown-up ninja play, how about some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? NO? Come on, you know you want to play the part of an artistic reptile. In all seriousness, this game is a lot of fun. While I may have been trying to increase my Gamerscore when I played it, it was one of the least painful ways of achieving the feat. You could also try out Tenchu® Z, NARUTO™: Rise of a Ninja, or Dead or Alive® 4 for some flailing girl-parts—err, I mean great fighting.

I am now going to leave you as I go watch some Ninjai: The Little Ninja reruns. Little Bird will make you cry like a little girl—not that I just admitted that …

Real-life Gears armor and Lancer coming soon

What Gears of War fanboy doesn't want to take their Gears gaming experience them into the real world. Wearing Marcus Fenix style armor with a a chainsaw revving Lancer similar to a certain Cliff Bleszinski. It's a Gears fanboy's dream! Coolest thing of all is that rather soon, that dream will be coming true.

TriForce Sales just announced that they, with the help of sculptor Sid Garrand from the famous Nightmare Armor Studios, have secured a license to create 1:1: scale replicas of Gears of War armor (including body armor and helmets) as well as the iconic Gears Lancer. All replicas will be made of high density foam, fiberglass and polyurethane composites, making them fully wearable and totally "badass". Pre-orders for the TriForce Sales produced goodness will begin July 7th over at ProjectTriforce.com for a yet to be revealed price. Yup, our geeky fantasies are slowly becoming a reality.

Would You Rather … Ahh! Real Downloads! Edition

In our continuing effort to bring you fresh and interesting content, X3F presents Would You Rather … a weekly feature that asks you the hard questions. The point? If you had to choose one or the other, which would you go for?

This week in WUR we’re tackling today’s hot button issue. With downloadable games evolving we’re wondering which titles you think should be the future of the service. While shorter (in terms of features and development time), smaller titles have been the lifeblood of Xbox Live Arcade since the origin of the service, larger more substantial games are gaining steam. But, as larger games ask a steeper price should developers shy away from a service with, seemingly, set price-points or hope they make an entertaining enough experience that the price won’t be as big a factor?

Or, from a different perspective on the question, are developers wasting time creating larger games if the title demands a higher price and should they only focus on smaller titles, which is what some believe the service was bred for? Vote. Discuss. Or, you know, ignore.

Feel free to share the reasons for your vote in the comments. We’ll share the results of the poll during the next edition of Would You Rather … which hits X3F every Wednesday.

Last weeks WUR results can be find after the jump … take a look!

Last week we asked which demo from GDC you’d want most if you had to pick. Too Human and Ninja Gaiden II were in a dead heat, and with a 1% chance of error it’s essentially a tie. So we’re about to break it. Which demo would we prefer to play? Barbie Horse Adventure V: The Revenge of Sparkles the Cat. Now that’s next gen.

Konami jumps on the musical video game wagon (again)

Konami has recently released they will be joining in the scene of video game music peripherals announcing their upcoming game Rock Revolution.

Though being new to this on the home console marketfront, Konami is quite familiar with this genre of video games creating popular interactive arcade music games such as DrumMania and Guitar Freaks which have been around since 99'.

Rock Revolutionwill support both a guitar and a seven input drum instrument for the Playstation 3 & Xbox 360 Versions.
Wii owners could once again be let down by its motion sensing, with its version using controls by the Wiimote & Nunchuck to simulate the motions.

• Career mode: play songs, learn techniques, create set lists and complete challenges

2 New Originals on Marketplace

Zombie

Personally I think putting originals on Marketplace is a bit pointless without achievements, but this isn't about my opinion, this is about some good news for the people who actually care about the originals on Marketplace.

Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows is the first, it is 1.17 gigs and is the usual price. The game got terrible ratings when released, so I guess those that want to play an old and terrible game, then look no further then here.

The other game is Stubb the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse, which I personally wouldn't mind playing. Looks like a lot of fun. Like the other game, its the usual price.

These are up now, ready for you to waste your 1,200 MS points on. Enjoy!
